Projections

Various experimentations using digital images projected over live subjects. The project is rooted in several ideas and has many potential applications, but I think my main goal is to “re-skin” the model as dramatically and efficiently as possible. I started exploring this idea around the same time I started experimenting with bodypaint. Although body art is a gratifying process in itself with all sorts of possibilities in trompe l’oiel, camouflage and prosthetics, it is very time-consuming and requires tremendous resources to execute properly. With digital projection, all I need is a texture (which can come from a photograph or a digital design) and a three-dimensional person who is willing to wear it.
